Why an independent broker

Most "payments consultants" aren't really independent.

They sell licenced platforms, embed their own gateway, or run reseller agreements that quietly steer recommendations. We're paid for the work, not the placement.

What we're not
  • Not a reseller. We don't license a platform we then "advise" you to deploy.
  • Not a generalist. Payments is our entire focus, not part of a broader management consulting practice.
  • Not Big 4. No partner pyramid, no junior team running the engagement, no €450/hour blended rate.
  • Not opaque. Every commercial relationship we have is disclosed up front, in writing.
What we are
  • Direct operator experience. 10+ years inside the industry, sales leadership at Tier 1 PSPs, the actual negotiating table.
  • Active market intelligence. We run live commercial relationships with multiple PSPs. We know what's actually being offered right now.
  • Founder-led. The person you brief is the person doing the work. No handoff.
  • Conflict transparency. If there's a referral relationship that could colour a recommendation, we say so before the engagement starts.

Kevin has spent a decade inside the payments industry, most recently in senior commercial leadership at a Tier 1 payments provider, leading relationships with merchants across hospitality, retail and ecom. Before that, sales leadership roles across multiple Tier 1 PSPs.

He started PayBrokr because the consultancy market had a structural gap: nobody was offering Irish SMEs and mid-market businesses genuinely independent payments advice. The big firms wouldn't take a €15k project. The "independents" turned out to be resellers. The market needed someone who'd actually negotiated contracts from the PSP side.
